Dear Friend, Welcome!
Pronam, great divine eternal soul!
This site – entirely a personal initiative – is dedicated to sharing information, inspiration, practices, and spiritual friendship with you, focusing on:
~ PARAMHANSA YOGANANDA, the Premavatar and Jagat Guru: we will talk about his life, mission, and living legacy. If you don’t know him at all, you might find this introductory biography helpful.
~ SWAMI KRIYANANDA, his direct and close disciple, founder of the Ananda communities. He agreed to establish this website. Thank you, Swamiji! It was originally intended to foster friendship among Kriya yogis, but then expanded. If you don’t know him, you find some basic information in this short biography. You may enjoy stories from devotees who knew him, and some additional personal Golden Memories.
~ The AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF A YOGI, Yogananda’s “messenger”. This precious book contains tons of spiritual gold, countless inner diamonds, and the most amazing and brilliant soul-pearls. If you don’t know it, you might find this short introduction interesting.
~ KRIYA YOGA and its sacred tradition. If you don’t know much about it, here is a short introduction. In essence: God and the soul are found within, deep in the spine (the “altar of God”), reached through Kriya Yoga pranayama, which causes a diminution of breath and therefore interiorization. This inner energy is brought upward to the Christ center at the spiritual eye, made possible through the purifying effect of Kriya. The result is union and divine bliss (ananda). To contemplate the purpose of Kriya Yoga, you may find these words of Yogananda inspiring, taken from a recording.
~ HARMONY amongst all Kriya Yogis, and friendship amongst them. If we can’t do it, who will? You may find a technique, which many Yogananda devotees practice, beautiful and powerful: the Peace and Harmony Prayer. You may also benefit from this practical Training in Harmony by Swami Kriyananda.
Please also enjoy the following words on the spiritual effect of friendship, by Yogananda:
True sincere friendship is the light
with which we can help one another
to see and pass through the door of Heaven.
When in mutual service we forget the little self,
then only will we see
the one big Self of the Spirit
running though us….
Certainly you made me feel,
with your harmony and spiritual blending,
that One Spirit existed in us;
and I could not find myself apart…
May you grow in every way,
and broadcast the message of Yogoda
to East, West, North, South.
Remember and act
according to the suggestions
I lovingly gave to you.
