Yogananda writes in his book Autobiography of a Yogi: “The substance of a dream is held in materialization by the subconscious thought of the dreamer. When that cohesive thought is withdrawn in wakefulness, the dream and its elements dissolve. A man closes his eyes and erects a dream-creation which, on awakening, he effortlessly dematerializes. He follows the divine archetypal pattern. Similarly, when he awakens in cosmic consciousness, he will effortlessly dematerialize the illusions of the cosmic dream.”
He adds in the same book: “Spiritual sight, x-raylike, penetrates into all matter; the divine eye is center everywhere, circumference nowhere. I realized anew, standing there in the sunny courtyard, that when man ceases to be a prodigal child of God, engrossed in a physical world indeed dream, baseless as a bubble, he reinherits his eternal realms. If “escapism” be a need of man, cramped in his narrow personality, can any escape compare with the majesty of omnipresence?”
Concerning this Cosmic Chant, Dan Hart, once the main musician at SRF, wrote: “Sr. Mrinalini though not publicly heard, was, from a chance hearing, the most beautiful I heard in her chanting – and from whom I notated the short version of “When My Dream’s Dream Is Done”.
LYRICS:
Whence do they come here?
Wither do they flit away?
In all follies’ dark sway
Keep floating on hope’s way.
Take the dust of each one’s feet
Serving Mother where She sleeps.
Let us all swim in smiles.
When my dream’s dream is done
She will lift me in Her lap.
WHEN TO USE THIS SONG:
