An unchanged edition of Cosmic Chants followed in 1943. It can be viewed here: Cosmic Chants (second edition 1943 signed) It’s the whole book, the same as the 1938 original edition.
In this particular copy we see a beautiful inscription by Yogananda for Korla Pandit (the “godfather of Exotica”): “To Korla Pandit, whose incomparable east-west blended heavenly music I enjoyed whenever I had the opportunity. With love and very best wishes, very sincerely yours, Paramhansa Yogananda.”
Korla Pandit and Yogananda became friends. Yogananda wrote an introduction to the liner notes for one of his records. Korla was the artist at a Lake Shrine concert, as Brother Anandamoy writes. He also played at Yogananda’s funeral (according to Wikipedia).
In the photo, on the left, we see Korla Pandit with Yogananda. On the right is his wife Beryl June DeBeeson.
His music can be found on YouTube.
